1What Is ROC Race?
With over 500,000 certified ROC Stars from around the world and entering its 8th year, the Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge 5k (ROC Race) is the original game show-inspired obstacle fun run featuring larger-than-life obstacles set along a 5k walk/run course. These 12 epic obstacles include (but are certainly not limited to!) the infamous Wrecking Balls, the menacing Sweeper, the brand new Leap of Faith, and an epic finish line slide down The Hippo – a towering 4 story tall waterslide! ROC Race is an untimed event open to everyone, from couch potatoes to track stars, ages 13 and up. Get your teams and costumes ready, and prepare for an experience you will never forget!
2Is ROC Race timed?
ROC Race is an untimed event. The main focus is all about the fun rather than the competition!
3What is a Start Wave?
All participants are divided into start times to ensure the safety of participants on the course. While registering, you will need to select a general start wave (e.g. Wave 1 or Wave 2). Within this wave, you will be allocated a specific start time, which you will be notified of in the weeks prior to the event. When registering, you will need to acknowledge you are available to start at any time within your wave.
4Do I need to know how to swim?
You do not need to know how to swim to participate in the event. The deepest water pool is at the Wrecking Balls obstacle and is approximately 1.2M deep – shallow enough to stand up and walk across. Life vests are provided and life guards are positioned at each corner of the obstacle to ensure everyone’s safety. We encourage everyone to try all the obstacles, but you are most welcome to skip any obstacle you do not feel comfortable completing.
5Can I skip an obstacle?
We encourage everyone to try all the obstacles, but you are most welcome to skip any obstacle you do not feel comfortable completing.
6How old do you need to be to participate?
All participants must be 13 years or older – sorry, no exceptions!
